The little black Cocker Spaniel in the Foreground is Lucy. Lucy turns twelve years old today. That's approximately somewhere between 80 and 90 in human years. Ethel, behind her to the right, turned twelve on June 28. Both of these dogs are Cancer survivors. Ethel had several tumors removed when she was 5, and Lucy had three removed earlier this year. as of now, they are both doing pretty well. Ethel's had some health issues in recent months, her sight is failing, and she's almost deaf, but Lucy, other than being a bit overweight, is in pretty good health.

That's good to hear! As long as they're enjoying life all is good, for a dog. I'm amazed at how well they adapt to deafness and blindness.
I have a thirteen year old greyhound - the vet says he's the equivalent of 90 years old. He's amazing, but he is losing his sight, and he's lost his directional hearing. He can hear you, but can't tell where you are. Still thinks he's a pup though!
I only hope I do as well when - and if - I reach that age!
